What I treat:

Anxiety

I offer a calm and supportive environment to help you understand and manage overwhelming feelings of worry and fear. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I work with clients to identify triggers, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop effective coping strategies. My goal is to equip you with tools to reduce anxiety, regain control, and live a more balanced and peaceful life. Together, we can work toward breaking the cycle of anxiety and empowering you to face life’s challenges with confidence.

Depression

I specialize in helping individuals manage and overcome depression by providing a supportive, compassionate space to explore the underlying causes of their struggles. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I work with clients to challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and regain a sense of hope and balance. My goal is to empower you to navigate life’s challenges, rediscover your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Trauma

Trauma is when something really scary, painful, or overwhelming happens, and it leaves a lasting impact on us. It can make our brains and bodies feel like we’re still in danger, even long after the event is over. This is why we might have strong reactions, like flashbacks, anxiety, or a sense of numbness.

In trauma therapy, we work together to make sense of what happened, slowly and safely. We’ll learn ways to calm those 'alarm bells' that still go off in your body and brain. Over time, this helps you feel more in control, less haunted by the past, and able to really live in the present again."

OCD

I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), offering evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure therapy. My approach focuses on helping clients identify and challenge obsessive thoughts while gradually reducing compulsive behaviors. Together, we’ll work to break the cycle of fear and anxiety, allowing you to regain control and reduce the impact OCD has on your daily life. My goal is to provide tools and strategies that empower you to live with more freedom and peace of mind.

Personality Disorders

In treating personality disorders, I offer a compassionate and structured approach to help individuals manage the complex emotions and behaviors that often accompany these conditions. Using evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work with clients to develop emotional regulation skills, improve interpersonal relationships, and foster a deeper sense of self-awareness. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can better understand your patterns, build healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve lasting personal growth.

Specialties

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. In CBT, we work together to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, helping you develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to challenges. By challenging unhelpful beliefs and replacing them with more positive, realistic perspectives, CBT empowers you to manage issues like anxiety, depression, and stress more effectively. This therapy provides practical tools that you can use in everyday life to foster lasting personal growth and emotional well-being.

Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy

ERP is a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety conditions. It helps individuals face their fears in a gradual, supported way—without relying on the compulsions or avoidance behaviors that keep them stuck.

In ERP, we work together to gently expose you to the thoughts, images, or situations that trigger anxiety (the exposure), while helping you resist the urge to perform compulsions or safety behaviors (the response prevention). Over time, this process retrains the brain to tolerate uncertainty and reduce fear, leading to lasting relief.

ERP is done at your pace, with plenty of support, humor, and encouragement along the way. It's challenging, but it’s also empowering—and you're never alone in the process.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build healthier coping skills. DBT focuses on four key areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. By practicing these skills, you can learn to stay present, handle emotional crises without becoming overwhelmed, and communicate more effectively in your relationships. DBT is particularly effective for individuals struggling with mood disorders, personality disorders, and self-destructive behaviors. My goal is to help you create balance in your life by integrating acceptance with positive change.

Cognitive Processing Therapy

CPT is an evidence-based therapy for PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. It helps individuals understand how trauma has affected their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions—and supports them in shifting unhelpful thinking patterns that keep them stuck.

Through structured sessions, CPT helps you process what happened in a safe, supportive way, so you can reduce distress, regain control, and reconnect with your values. It’s a focused, empowering approach that has been proven effective in both clinical research and real-world settings.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based approach that helps individuals accept difficult emotions and thoughts instead of avoiding or fighting them. The goal of ACT is to foster psychological flexibility by encouraging you to embrace your experiences while focusing on actions that align with your values. Through ACT, we work on building awareness of your thoughts and feelings, learning to accept them without judgment, and committing to behaviors that lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life. This approach is effective for managing anxiety, depression, and stress, helping you live more fully in the present moment while pursuing your personal goals.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process and heal from distressing memories, trauma, and emotional challenges. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR leverages the brain’s natural ability to heal by stimulating both hemispheres through eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, such as tapping or auditory tones.

How EMDR Works?

When people experience trauma, disturbing memories can become “stuck” in the brain, causing emotional and psychological distress over time. EMDR helps reprocess these memories so they are no longer emotionally triggering. During sessions, the therapist guides the client through targeted memories while facilitating bilateral stimulation, which helps the brain reorganize and store the memories more adaptively.

Who Can Benefit from EMDR?

EMDR has been widely used to treat conditions such as:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Anxiety and panic disorders
  • Depression
  • Phobias
  • Grief and loss
  • Performance anxiety
  • Chronic pain and physical health issues with psychological roots

Key Benefits of EMDR Therapy

  • Rapid results: Many clients experience noticeable improvements in fewer sessions compared to traditional talk therapies.
  • Non-invasive: No homework, assignments, or medications are required for the process to work effectively.
  • Reduces emotional intensity: Clients often report feeling desensitized to triggering events or thoughts after treatment.
  • Empowering: EMDR focuses on the client’s natural ability to heal and emphasizes emotional self-regulation.
